Lumec provides project facilitation and support services to assist drive the implementation of projects from initial research to establishment. Project facilitation requires a combination of skills and expertise including market research, feasibility studies and business plans, cost-benefit analysis, organisational development and planning, financial analysis, stakeholder engagement and facilitation, and monitoring and evaluation. Government, entrepreneurs and other small enterprises often lack such skills and as such, Lumec provides a comprehensive solution to assist drive important projects or initiatives through to implementation in a professional, informed and transparent manner.
An example of a project that Lumec has currently facilitated is the eThekwini Biomass Application Centre (BAC) in KwaMashu. Lumec was appointed by a Dutch-based company, PRM International, to assist them facilitate implementation of the BAC and to develop various value chains for bio-based applications. As such, responsibilities included developing and maintaining relationships with potential project partners, undertaking research on the business case of various bio-based applications, assisting to drive funding applications, and oversight and feedback on the actions of the various specialist team members.
